preview two - happy monday everyone! today’s preview are the member groups! we’ve organized them a bit differently than you’ve probably seen before. the subjects split themselves up into six camps, based on their abilities. below are the descriptions of each. try and figure out where you character would belong! xoxo

camp salvage - the people in camp salvage are the ones who go out to the s.s. horizon every day and gather stuff to bring back to shore. they have to be kind of athletic, as they have to row out to the ship and then get inside. they also must be brave, as it’s not exactly a walk in the park to explore an abandoned and wrecked ship. the ship isn’t likely to sink, but the salvage campers try and get any and everything that could help make life easier on land.
camp scavenge - scavenge campers are the ones who go out and explore the island. they map out what they find and then report to camp superior so that they can organize things. these are also the people in charge of food. they either hunt, or they gather fruit and other edible plants from around the island. since they are in charge of food, they also do a lot of meal preparation. these people generally have to be pretty athletic - because they’ll end up trekking miles each day.
camp signal - obviously, the campers want to get off the island. so, these people are constantly trying to figure out ways to get the attention of just about anyone. they will set fires, write messages in the sand, maybe even throw a message in a bottle out to see. some of the people in this camp are pretty inventive, and are trying to create radios and whatnot to communicate to someone. the staff in this camp have to sabotage the real campers at times, as obviously they aren’t supposed to actually get their messages through.
camp standby - these are the people who… well, they can’t or won’t do much. they are either slackers, they’re too terrified that they can’t do anything but curl up in a ball, or they don’t have any skills to assist in aiding others. most of the time, they’ll end up helping camp scavenge sort out and deliver food to the other camps, or maybe help with some water. or sometimes they will provide entertainment / comic relief for the other camps. other than that, they don’t really serve much of a purpose.
camp superior -these guys are the head honchos. they are the ones who organize the entire operation and keep things running smoothly. they will make maps out of the information that the scavengers bring them, provide security for the camps, duel out punishments, make rules, etc. basically, if there was a “government” of the island, it would be camp superior.
camp surgeon - people get sick, and people get hurt. these guys are the ones who will take care of you. these are all of the people with past medical experience. the people running the experiment knew that people would get sick, and so they stocked the cruise ship with a lot more medicine than one would normally have. thanks to their foresight, the campers have just about any medical supplies they need.

preview one - i know we said we’d start previews on monday, but we decided to start a day early! remember, we’ll be releasing face claim reserves at 45 followers, and we’ve still got quite a ways to go, so reblog us! to get you excited, here’s the full plot!

the social experiment
you couldn’t quite wrap your mind around the idea when they knocked on your door that day. two men in suits, representing antigenics health, inc., offered you what seemed to be the opportunity of a lifetime - a paid break from life - a break that could potentially lead to fame and fortune. they’d give you everything you needed - food, shelter, necessities, clothes, and thousands of dollars. all you had to do? go live in an undisclosed location for an extended period of time with a bunch of other people, and carry around a video camera to document the experience. honestly, the way the described it, it sounded like a paid vacation. they explained it was to be the largest social experiment ever conducted. they were gathering several hundred people to live in a place that they couldn’t yet reveal due to disclosure agreements just to see what would happen. they would video document the entire thing, and then televise it. they explained that it would be almost like a reality television show revolving around an entire community of people. of course, you would have to live in their artificial community for quite a while, so they could get all the results they needed. they said there may be some twists and turns - some completely controlled obstacles thrown your way for the experiment’s sake. but, there were thousands of dollars waiting for you at the end of it. given that it’d also be televised for the world to see, they implied that you’d probably get famous from it as well. it sounded like it’d be the last “job” you’d ever have to “work,” and really all you’d be doing is living your life without any real responsibilities. so you signed up.
the “kick off” cruise
to kick start the experiment, antigenics health, inc. announced that they’d be taking a party cruise ship to the location of the experiment. a vacation to kickstart the vacation? things seemingly couldn’t get any better! they searched your suitcase before you walked onto the boat, making sure you didn’t have anything to communicate with the outside world. from now on, it was only you and your fellow cohorts. as you boarded, they handed you a backpack of things you were required to use. you made your way to your cabin, and looked inside. you found a video camera that you were to make video diaries on, an iphone that operated like a walkie talkie (communicating to only those also on the experiment) that you could either call or send text messages with, a bunch of clothes. you pulled on your new outfit and went out to enjoy the cruise. it was a party from dawn until dusk for the first three days. you were having the time of your life. until that third night. around three in the morning, you woke up to the sound of screaming alarms. people were rushing through the hallway, throwing life jackets this way and that. the cruise ship had crashed. you were to grab your belongings and get out. you stepped out onto the deck to the chaos, but you saw an island just off the side of the boat. people were boarding life boats and were heading in its direction. you did the same. when you got to the island, the next morning the captain tried to call everyone down by explaining the situation. the boat propellers had completely jammed up in a nasty gnarl of metal that couldn’t be repaired. he was unable to reach the coast guard, because the ship had been allowed no communication with the outside world, just like you. the captain explained that he had just been given coordinates, and told where to go. that was it. but, they were lucky they had been able to maneuver close enough to the stranded island. he tried to seem calm, but you could tell he was panicked. you and everyone else were stranded on some island. no one knew where you were. the rest of the world didn’t expect you back for a very long time, even. only the company knew that you were out there and the direction you were headed, but the captain said he’d had to steer off course when he realized the machinery was breaking down to get close to land. all you could do was wait, and pray that they figured it out.
now for the twist
now let’s shift from your perception to one of the waiters on the cruise. he was standing right next to you in the mass of people as the captain spoke, but felt none of the panic that you did. that’s because he knew that this was the experiment. you thought that you were headed to a real destination, but he knew that this was the intended destination. the social experiment was to see what people would do if they were stranded for an extended period of time on an island. the entire place was rigged up with cameras, and representatives from antigenics health, inc. were on another island just out of sight keeping eyes on the entire operation. the entire cruise ship staff knew about it, and they were to orchestrate the ‘obstacles’ that antigenics health, inc. wanted to throw at the patrons.
and this is now
it’s a few weeks after the initial crash. people have started to organize into different encampments, each designed to serve a specific purpose. everything is actually going along quite well. but, everyone is on edge. they’re scared. they want to go home. they don’t know that everything is actually carefully controlled. they think they are stranded, and it’s only a matter of time before things stop going so swimmingly. but then again, that is just what antigenics health, inc. and the rest of the world is on the edge of their seats wanting to see.
